Washington, DC -- The pro-life movement is unified in its opposition to the House health care reform bill Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled last week because of its abortion funding. In a new letter to members of Congress, the National Right to Life more exactly spells out what is at stake in the votes expected later this week.

pregnancy is not a disease so abortion is not "health care".

The Truth About the Hyde Amendment Is Coming Out

Pro-abortion politicians have made numerous misleading claims about abortion in health care. Twice in recent weeks, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has insisted to reporters that the Hyde Amendment is sufficient to prevent federal funds from subsidizing abortion. As the group that defended the Hyde Amendment before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1980, Americans United for Life knows well that the Hyde Amendment will not prevent abortion funding through the current health care proposals. Fortunately, the disinformation campaign in the mainstream media was shattered last week when Associated Press began reporting the truth about the Hyde Amendment:

"Currently a law called the Hyde amendment bars federal funding for abortion - except in cases of rape and incest or if the mother's life would be endangered - and applies those restrictions to Medicaid, forcing states that cover abortion for low-income women to do so with their own money. Separate laws apply the restrictions to the federal employee health plan and military and other programs.

But the Democrats' health overhaul bill would create a new stream of federal funding not covered by the restrictions."

No you prodeath scum bag. That would be your side. It was your side who fought government paid health care for poor pregnant women. Mainlly because it would atribute personhood to the womb child. Nice try maggot, but like always you purposely have it wrong. You only want health care if it means that american tax payers provide the bounty for baby scalps.

I agree.
ANTI-CHOICE pro-abort cultists want to FORCE taxpayers to pay prenatal hitmen, with the pretense that killing babies is somehow 'health care'.

hmm... if the majority of citizens really were 'pro-choice' as the choicist fanatics claim (LIE) then WHY would they even have to try to force taxpaying citizens to pay for their dirty deeds, eh? Wouldn't there be enough baby-killing nuts to pay for the prenatal hitmen without having to force pro-lifers to pay for the slayings of innocent babies?
